METRO's rail plans will be costing us BILLIONS of dollars, not merely hundreds of millions as previously reported. Given the cost we must place the rails on the best route possible -- Westheimer!

For some, Westheimer light rail still merits consideration

Rad Sallee mentions our position in his MOVE IT! Chronicle article, and publishes our web site address. Rad's article also suggests that the Post Oak rail line could connect a Westheimer University line with the Hillcroft Transit Center. That way, you could get to the Galleria without a transfer on the direct Westheimer University line, and transfer to the Post Oak line only if you wanted to continue to the southwest.

Light Rail: Not a Light Decision

Laurie Johnson covers ROW's position which requests METRO prepare a true evaluation of Westheimer so that it may be compared with the alternatives. METRO claims that the routes evaluated are the ones that maximize ridership and minimizing cost and environmental impacts. But how do we really know unless there is an evaluation of a Westheimer route included in the DEIS?

University rail to take businesses, homes - Study references displacements, continued traffic snarls

We at RailOnWestheimer.org believe the property takings would be much less than a Richmond route, because real estate has to be taken when the train makes 90-degree turns on/off Richmond. Turns to follow the Westheimer roadway are 30 degrees or less.
